I used to have a Garmin but I sold it when I got my BlackBerry. Google maps seems to do everything that I need making stand alone units more of a luxury item. Any thoughts on the value proposition of GPS units. Do they really bring anything to the table that you can't get from Google maps? Just wondering what your thoughts were.

I agree...the stand alone GPS device has a limited life...phones and other devices that are multipurpose will make them obsolete
